Preschool
 
YOGA FOR MOM AND ME!

An experienced yoga teacher will lead this group. A special time for mother and child to relax and do some stretching and breathing together. This program will be held at the center this spring. (After Easter break) If interested please call the center to be placed on the list.
Price $35.00 for 10 weeks.

 
THE CHATTERBOX

If you are a "young woman at home" who would like to meet other women in the community just to have coffee and chat or perhaps participate in an activity or hear a speaker------------Or if you would like to have a little time for yourself away from the children drop by on Thursday mornings at 9:15. Coffee is on and childcare is available. Call or email for more information.

 
DROP OFF DAYCARE OR "HALTE GARDERIE"

Need a break or have an appointment and need a babysitter?
Bring your child to do baby gym and other pre-planned activities with other children.
Thursdays from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. (24 hour notice is required)

 
WHAT'S FOR LUNCH

This weekly program is for mothers who have at least on child under the age of 6. One week a facilitator will assist moms to prepare a lunch for themselves and their child, while their child is cared for by our child care workers. And the alternate week the mothers participate in an information session sharing topics related to meal preparation children's food needs and ways to encourage solid family eating habits in our fast-paced society. There is no cost for this program thanks to a grant from the Chagnon Foundation through the Regroupement pour le developpement social.
And if you are a "stay at home mom or dad" with children over the age of 6 and would like to participate in a similar program that would allow you to prepare meals for your family to take home, please let us know.

READING DETECTIVE PROGRAM

A partnership among Panda, Mountainview Elementary School, St. Jude elementary, and 4 Korners bring together children in an after-school program to improve their reading skills through the use of creative tools and activities. Children enjoy a snack and spend an hour with a qualified teacher working on challenging reading projects.
Starting January 2008.
Tuesdays: 3:45 - 6:00 pm

ACTIVE PARENTING NOW

This program is offered to parents of children of different age groups at different intervals. (0 to 4 year olds) (6 to 12 year olds) (12 to 18 year olds) on demand. Please call or email us to leave your name for our next session.

Seniors
 
BREAKFAST CLUB

Enjoy a nutritious breakfast in the company of friends. You then get a chance to participate in a new and exciting trend which is making a name for itself. Remember your fondest memories and share them with others in a creative scrapbook designed all by you! You will also learn about journaling and how the two arts can be used together. Other creative activities will be incorporated into the program from time to time.
Space is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to sign up early!

SENIORS FITNESS

If you are interested in participating in a senior's fitness program specifically designed to contribute to health and improve your overall quality of life, please call us and let us know of your availability.

 
STAND UP PROGRAM

You are 65 or older and have fallen or are worried about your sense of balance. Improve your balance and strengthen your legs. This intensive 12 week program is held twice a week to provide information and discuss safe exercise at home. This program is facilitated by qualified professionals from the CSSS du Lac des Deux Montagnes.
Ten participants are needed to offer the course in English.

 
FOOT CLINIC

If you need help caring for your feet call us and we will refer you to a qualified nursing assistant who specializes in foot care and who will go to your home if you need her to.

 
FRIENDLY HELLO

A friendly call each morning to make sure all is well, we can do that. One of our conscientious volunteers would be pleased to be in touch with you.

If you have any interesting ideas for programs or a special event that you would like to see a 4 Korners please give us a call. A minimum of 8 people is required to start a new program.

 
SEWING

Would you like to learn how to sew? We have the solution-- small classes by an expert teacher.
$20.00 for 10 lessons.
Mondays 7:00 to 9:30 pm

 
TAI CHI

Tai Chi is a slow moving exercise for people who want to practice a light and less strenuous exercise program. Tai chi improves balance, tones the body and promotes longevity.
Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:30 pm

TAX CLINIC

A qualified chartered accountant will be on hand to help you fill out your income tax forms. This service is only offered to people who meet certain criteria. Please call us for more information.

 
WOMENS WELLNESS

This is a time and a place for women 25-55 years of age to come together to focus on issues important to their own health and well being. The participants will decide what subjects or activities will be pursued each week. (No cost)
Special workshops of 2.5 hours will be periodically offered covering personal awareness, growth and development of self.
Spiral of Life Workshop fee is $60.00 for approximately 10 weeks

If you feel you could benefit from English language support groups around any of the following issues, please call us and leave us your name and phone number. We will make every effort to find the appropriate space and personnel to accommodate your requests if the demand warrants it:
